COLD OPEN: Rihanna might not have spent a lot of time in the public eye this year, but she continues to leave her mark, debuting on Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women list ahead of Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

What’s up guys, and happy Friday, it’s Emile Ennis Jr. back here on Clevver News, and today’s news update just further confirms that it’s Rihanna’s world and we’re just living in it.

As the year comes to a close, Forbes does its whole reminiscing on the fiercest females of the year while noting the many accomplishments of each of these ladies.

And as if we expected anything less, Bad Gal RiRi is making headlines for debuting on the list of Forbes’ Most Powerful Women, ahead of some of the most… well… powerful women.

Forbes ranks the women in six categories: business, technology, finance, media & entertainment, politics & policy and philanthropy.

Rihanna joins many other well-known names in the entertainment category, coming in at No. 61, while Beyonce landed at 66 and Taylor Swift at 71.

Some other famous faces who made the cut were Oprah Winfrey at No. 20, Queen Elizabeth II at No. 40, Ivanka Trump at No. 42 and Reese Witherspoon at No. 90.

Although you may feel like you didn’t see much of Rihanna, she clearly knows how to work her magic behind the scenes, because despite MAKING US WAIT FOR #R9 YET ANOTHER YEAR, girl had a massive year.

Fenty Beauty and Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty lingerie line generated an estimated $570 million in revenue last year… Oh, and Fenty was only founded in 2017, soooo let that one sink in.

Another one of her massive accomplishments include partnering with luxury goods company LVMH on a new fashion house called Fenty, based in Paris.

This business venture made history with RiRi becoming the first woman to create an original brand for LVMH, as well as being the first woman of color to lead a design house there.

Aside from becoming a reigning queen in the beauty world, Rihanna has basically just been putting time aside to… live.

Over the last few months, Rihanna has shared photos becoming a new aunty, visiting her hometown in Barbados, and basically living in a bikini on lavish vacations.

And as bitter as I am that I don’t have my hands on a copy of R9 yet, I have to admit, she looks happy.

In fact, Rihanna revealed to actress Sarah Paulson in Interview Magazine that she’s began adding the letter “P” to her calendar to block off personal days, which she takes in two-to-three day chunks, and did so after finding herself unhappy in both her personal and professional lives.

She said, “It’s only the last couple years that I started to realize that you need to make time for yourself, because your mental health depends on it. If you’re not happy, you’re not going to be happy even doing things that you love doing.”

Rihanna also dished to Sarah that she never wants work to feel like a “chore.” She added, “My career is my purpose, and it should never feel like anything other than a happy place.”

PREACH, RI.

But she even went as far as making simple daily tasks, like going grocery shopping and going on walks a “big deal” to keep her personal life and mental health in check.

Seriously, it’s no wonder she made Forbes’ Most Powerful Women list… Rihanna seems to have this whole “balance” thing figured out, and we couldn’t be more happy for her.

Sooooo that means she’ll be gifting us with R9 for Christmas…? That’s how this is all supposed to go down, right?

So while we wait for Rihanna’s next big career move, I want to know if you guys were surprised or definitely not surprised to see Rihanna debut on Forbes’ 2019 Most Powerful Women list, and were you ACTUALLY surprised to see her beat out Beyonce and Taylor?
